Yes, it’s that time again – the month of love and romance when lovesick Romeos seek their Juliette and form bonds of love to last a lifetime – or when those who have already been in the bonds of marriage seek to cement their relationship for another 20 years or so.
Whatever your situation on the romantic front this February if you are like most Valentinos you’ll be looking for some new and exciting way to ignite the fire of the love you desire or once had but the flames of passion have diminished somewhat.
Give her the colours of love!
Why not, for something unique and special, and most importantly as long-lasting as you desire your love to be, give her the gift of a great paint refresher for your home or her apartment?
She will love you for it – and you can have so much fun choosing a love colour that defines the nature of your love too! Yes, believe it or not, there are love colours and they have deep-seated phycological meanings.
Building on nearly 50 years of research into colour psychology, an expert on this, Professor Max Lüscher, introduced the ‘Colours of Love’ test in his 1995 book. Apparently, the test measures individuals’ responses to four key colours, each of which represents a particular aspect of love and sexuality: These are the colours according to the professor…
- Deep purple – represents devotion and bonding and the ability to commit to another
- Magenta – represents resonance and romantic harmony
- Cinnamon pink – represents fantasy life and expectations
- Orange – represents sexual arousal
What is your love profile?
According to the book – ‘’The order in which you rank the four colours while considering the context of love relationships, reveals your romantic profile. For example, somebody who chooses purple first, magenta second, pink third and orange last has the profile of a sensitive partner who looks to form deep and lasting bonds. Someone who chooses magenta, orange, pink then purple has the profile of a vibrant partner with intense desires, an appetite for excitement and a sense of eroticism.’’
Mix it up
Being painters and wall decorators though, we like to mix things up and you can (according to the book) extend these colours to other colours and combinations which give even deeper insights.
- Blue – represents belonging and connectedness
- Green – represents self-esteem and self-determination
- Yellow – represents inner freedom and expectations of the future
- Red – represents self-confidence and action
Mix any of these with your earlier chosen colours and you get an even more accurate reflection of the real romantic you! All nonsense? – Well there’s science behind it and hey – it’s fun and just doing it together will give you a sense of togetherness you may not have had before – so what have you got to lose?
