As we go into Autumn (officially on our National Heritage Day the 21st of March) you may be thinking of giving your home a great facelift before the winter rains come. What is very interesting is that the trending colours for autumn and winter this year pretty much align with international lifestyle trends as we go into 2023.
There is a general move towards sustainability, being one with nature and inviting the outside into our homes, so the colour of your walls needs to work with the beautiful colours in your garden or office landscaped areas.
We looked at what some fashion experts were saying about autumn and winter trends for 2023 just to get some ideas of great wall decoration colours that would achieve this – and here are just a few suggestions…
Greens for going green
Being eco-friendly is not only fashionable but aligns with international drives to save on energy. This means creating more natural light and creating sustainable gardens too. Green and its many variations are therefore very much in fashion and match perfectly with the colour tone of your landscaped areas.
Green is also said to be a colour that instils calm and confidence, and we could all use some of that. A couple of suggested colours for Autumn 2023 are Abundant Green – very lush and Martini Olive.
Beautiful browns
Particularly for the lucky ones who have gardens or landscaped areas with a lot of trees, fashionable browns are always a good transitional colour between the outdoors and the indoors. Trends are indicating that many shades of brown are elegant and refined and conjure images of the earth. A couple of suggestions according to fashion gurus are Caramel Café – a creamy brown and Chicory Coffee – an earthy, roasted brown.
Orange tangerine and yellows
Orange and yellow are autumn colours supreme and are also said to be warm and inspirational. They can beautifully offset the changing vista of colours produced by the garden at this time of year. Add to this invigorating tangerine and creamy caramel tones and you have an autumn wall colour that is alive and vibrant. Other shades are Dragon Fire – suggesting energy and excitement, Orange Tiger – powerful and sleek, and Spicy Mustard – reminiscent of turmeric and other great spices.
