Stunning interior design trends for women with flair!

We are in the important month of August when we celebrate the backbone of every nation – it’s women! Women are not only the stronger sex in so many ways but they are also the ones with a passion to beautify their homes.

So, just for the ladies, this month we give you a couple of the great interior renovation and colour ideas that are trending right now – and watch this space for articles on the same for Spring as we are right now right on the threshold of the change of season.

It's all about nature and energy

A worldwide trend right now is to go for very natural looks and this applies not only to colours but to architectural design itself, For a while now we have spoken about bringing the outdoors into the home and as far as renovations are concerned this is where most people are heading.

There is some confusion about this though as there is also a huge drive towards energy saving, so when it comes to changing interior spaces some areas need to open up and some areas need to be smaller and more closed in.

For example, it is essential to open up areas that lead to the outdoors, thereby creating more natural light and integrating your outdoor spaces. This would be done by removing walls and replacing them with frameless glass sliding or folding doors (very fashionable right now) or by adding skylights etc. – whatever brings warmth and natural energy into the interior space.

On the other hand, because one needs to save energy, interior spaces that have plenty of sunlight can also be closed off from larger interior spaces that don’t, to keep the heat in. Get the picture? It’s all about utilising the Sun to maximise daytime heat and enclosing those warmed-up areas for nighttime warmth.

Colour pairing

Now about an interior design colour trend taking the world by storm. According to those in the know the ‘in thing’ right now is colour pairing. As one interior design expert put it ‘’Pairing complementary colours – those that sit opposite each other on the colour wheel – is not just a trend for spring but a cornerstone of interior design. A spring refresh that utilises complementary colours is a timeless way to breathe life into your space, rather than a passing fad.’’

Some of those ‘perfect pairings’ are said to be blue with orange and green with pink, both of which create a vibrant ambience in any room because they effortlessly merge together and (as the experts say) ‘’soothe the soul.’’ The classic pairing for the spring this year is said to be honeycomb and indigo based on the classic colour pairing principle of one colour boosting the vibrance of the other.
